Building a Custom Dive Watch with the Seiko NH35 | Watchmaking Meets Tech

Exploring a new hobby of mine: watchmaking! I recently discovered the intricate world of watches and their movements, and I was instantly captivated by how these tiny mechanisms work so seamlessly together. It’s fascinating to see how precision engineering and craftsmanship come together to create something both functional and beautiful.

To dive deeper, I decided to challenge myself by building a watch from scratch using a watchmaking kit. The kit included everything necessary to assemble the watch, from the case and hands to the movement and tools. What made the process even more enjoyable were the accompanying instructional videos, which guided me step by step and demystified some of the more technical aspects of assembly.

While it wasn’t without its challenges—working with such small components requires patience and a steady hand—it was incredibly rewarding to see the finished product come to life. The experience gave me a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship behind timepieces and has only deepened my interest in this fascinating craft.
